In Reception you will have a mixture of adult guided sessions and child-initiated play.
The key person for our Reception children is Mrs Lee.
Adult guided sessions:
Phonics (daily, 1 hour)
Maths (daily, 20 mins)
English- a story and discussion or drama, leading to writing time when you are ready
Science, History, Geography, Art, DT, RE, Music and PE activities with the Year 1 children (once or twice per week)
PSHE- circle time (weekly)
Child initiated play (where adults are there to play with you and help when you need it)
Outdoors:
Sandpit
Climbing wall
Bike riding round the track
Trim trail
Wendy house
Dens, tents
Large items- tyres, planks, gutters, pipes and crates
Mud kitchen
Gardening
Plus all of the reading, writing, drawing and maths equipment you could possibly need to help your learning journey!
Indoors:
1 to 1 story time- where we share whatever book you fancy
Small world play
Lego/ Duplo/ Stickle Bricks/ Blocks
Tuff tray activities changed daily
Creative table- help yourself to resources
Easels for larger scale drawing
Home corner with sofa for sharing a book
Dressing up
Dinner table
Kitchen
Shop-
Interest areas related to our current topic (e.g. animals)
Sand and water trays
Playdough
Woodwork bench
Jigsaws and games
Jungle area
Writing stations in all areas
