Our focus for today’s RE day was ‘The Kingdom of God.’ Classes 1 and 2 joined forces for the day and participated in a range of activities to consider the meaning of each part of Jesus’ special prayer.
‘Our father in heaven, Holy is your name.’
For this part, we looked at all of the different names for God that are found in the bible. We also thought about our own mothers and fathers, and what makes them special.

‘Your Kingdom Come’
We made royal orbs that kings and queens hold during a coronation. We looked at the world map and thought about the idea of God being king of different parts of the world.
‘Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.’
For this we made road signs, thinking about what God would warn us about or encourage us to do.
‘Give us today our daily bread.’
For this part, we made salt dough creations to help us think about the things we are thankful for.
‘Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.’
For this we did some activities with water, looking at dissolving and thinking about what ‘forgiveness’ means.
‘Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.’
We made badges to help us remember the good things we can do.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
