Non-Negotiables
Non-negotiables are the National Curriculum’s minimum age related expectations for a specific year group. With the significant changes to the National Curriculum and assessment guidelines as of September 2014, each class has now been given age related objectives that they need to reach during the academic year. The teachers and children use these as one of the tools to help discuss individual’s progress and levels of attainment.

The Curriculum in KS2 at Wiggonby C of E Primary School gives children opportunities to learn, build on and develop new skills. The organisation of our mixed age class has many benefits to our children's learning and social development.
Children are exposed to a range of subjects and activities that allow them to experience different topics and learning styles.
French (MFL)
At Wiggonby C of E Primary School every child in Key Stage 2 has the opportunity to study French as our chosen foreign language in accordance with the guidelines set out by the National Languages strategy.
All the children in KS2 have a French lesson each week learning about every day topics and the French way of life. Children learn French songs, games and familiar language like telling others their name or how they are feeling.
We try to incorporate the language we have learnt into other areas of the curriculum and general school routines.
We aim to provide our pupils with a multicultural understanding and a firm foundation for continued language learning as they progress to secondary education and beyond.
